Fighting a natural southpaw (real lefty) or converted (right handed in southpaw stance)?

If you are fighting a southpaw try to move left to stay outside his front foot, this limits what he can throw at you. Besides that you have to learn how to loop both the jab and hooks over his right hand which will probably be pawing or used as a range finder so he can really throw the left hand hard. Whatever you do, don't come straight in because you will walk right into his cross. Use their jab against them and slowly move in on it, by that I mean that you move away from their power hand, and in doing so you should open up a lane for your own cross or looping right hand to come in, if they try to get outside your left foot, then use your left hook to force them back in. Sometimes if they are trying too hard to get the outside position come back across with a left hook, or a jab as they move to the outside position because there will be a perfect lane to ram it through.
