I don't actually think it was as much as an upset as people think, yes it was a big upset but Sugar Ray Robs did lose a lot of fights at Middleweight remember and clearly hadn't taken Turpin seriously (he beat him easily in the re-match though).

i put benn mcClellan. To even get through the first round was amazing enough for benn but to win . best british upset.

At the time Robinson had 1 defeat in 132 bouts, and he did not win the rematch easily, he was within a round of losing again due to a bad cut.

I would probably say this was the biggest upset in British boxing history, followed by Honeyghan/Curry, Stracey/Napoles and then Benn/McClellan

Let's not forget that Curry was #1 lb4lb at the time of Honeyghan battering him, is that right Britkid? I swear Curry was #1 lb4lb back then.

Also, the G-Man was #2 lb4lb best in the world at the time of fighting Benn.

    Benn/G-Man what a boxing disgrace
Small is the number of them that see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.

You did not really have pound for pound ratings back then.

But, Hagler topped the 85 and 86 year end KO polls for the best pound for pound fighter, Curry was #10 in 84, #4 in 85 and #3 in 86.
