@Saxophonic that's because Karate is made to avoid any kind of fight... it's made only to defense yourslef... but people don't understand that. If we talk about the body shape, boxing is the best way to gain a good body.

@yistuntman Boxing has a immense amount of discipline, I found Karate and martial arts take a long time to be able to use them in a real life situation, boxing has made me incredibly fit in one month and made me about 10x better if a street fight was to arise.

i'm a boxer and i have done traditional jujitsu, and there is so much more discipline in boxing...and i do have to salute my boxing coach and all that, trust me just because karate is traditional, does not mean it takes more discipline.. it just means karate has unimproved techniques.. thank you for your humility, i really appreciate it :P

    Breaking Point - Promise keeper

  18. Feb 3, 2010 at 08:30 AM by yistuntman

@erthwormsam I'm not saying that Boxing doesn't take discipline... of course boxing takes it, but what i try to say is that Karate has another type of discipline. Karate combines discipline of training and tradition, in Karate you must wear a special gear and you have to salute your master and so... Boxing does not have this, boxing has another type in which only include training Maybe im not right... if this is the case, plz answer me

  19. Jan 23, 2010 at 06:33 PM by erthwormsam

@yistuntman boxing takes alot more discipline than karate, karate is a self defense martial art, in boxing you actually have to train for fights, it is a combat sport, but it is a martial art, and there is loads of discipline

Not taking anything away Calzaghe. He's a fantastic boxer (one of the best SM ever) but RJJ is a GREAT boxer! and that's the difference

  21. Jan 10, 2010 at 02:52 PM by yistuntman

boxing is not a matial art... its a combat sport, but it hasn't a discipline like karate or TKD
