I dont know if anyone has mentioned White Willow, they sound similar to Anglagard. A good cd to listen to is Sacrament.

  7. Dec 5, 2009 at 02:53 AM by facetiousraconteur

I'd say that the Mars Volta is a bit like them in a way.

Try Indukti, a Polish band with 2 CDs - S.U.S.A.R. and Idmen. They don't sound like Anglagard. But if you like a progressive metal/hard King Crimsonish sound (like Anglagard can do) then you might enjoy them a lot.

I'm listening to Shylock right now, thanks so much for all the help !

  12. Oct 17, 2009 at 01:20 PM by johanthepirate

If you're still curious about them you can try using the website progarchives (just Google it, I'm not sure if URLs are allowed in comments). That's a great resource for discovering new progressive rock, it has information on bands including songs you can listen to, a forum, and more. They have info about Shylock and Sinkadus (as well as many more bands that are similar to Anglagard).

Thanks so much! I'm not a Cathedral fan, but I checked out WOBBLER and its the most anglagard-like band I have ever heard, thanks! I'm getting their albums right away. As far as Sinkadus I couldn't find ANYTHING on them, and the only Shylock I found was a glam rock band

  14. Oct 17, 2009 at 12:48 PM by johanthepirate

The US 70s band Cathedral sounds quite abit like Anglagard. I've heard that other Scandanavian bands Sinkadus and Wobbler are also similar but I haven't heard them. The French band Shylock is also supposed to sound like Anglagard. That's all I can help you with, sorry. Anglagard was an amazing and unique band though, good choice of favorites.

Anyone know of any bands similar to Anglagard? (Don't bother mentioning the classics like Genesis and YEs, more recent bands I might not know) because they are my all time favorite band, and thats sayig a lot since I usually listen to death metal

  18. Jun 20, 2009 at 10:02 PM by rafa1969

I wish i could find an Anglagard album, they are realy hard to find in Mexico...
