@TheMexHurricane Chavez beat plenty of champs but how many all time greats did he beat? Again, Chavez is the best fighter Mexico ever produced aside from him there's only a handfull of top 100 Mexican fighters. Americans have Robinson, Armstrong, Pep, Louis, Ali, Langford, Jack Johnson, Benny Leonard, Dempsey,Gans, Walcott, Marciano, Sugar Ray Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Frazier, Foreman,Tyson, Whitaker, Roy Jones, Mayweather off the top of my head and I could ON AND ON.

  2. Feb 8, 2012 at 07:48 PM by DDeCouto

@TheMexHurricane The U.S had a population of around 130 million, a little less than half of what it is today. Yet there were probably 10 times as many people competing in the sport back then. Although the popularity of boxing is decreasing most rapidly in America, it's also decreased world wide. So I doubt there are significantly more people competing in the sport today. Of coarse, I don't have any definitive numbers to back that up. It's just an estimation.

  3. Feb 8, 2012 at 07:30 PM by DDeCouto

@TheMexHurricane LOL actaulty when a guy is getting hammered it's frequently stated whether that person knows how to tie up or not. You must not watch much boxing.

  4. Feb 8, 2012 at 07:29 PM by TheMexHurricane

@DDeCouto Chavez is easily top 20 or better when you throw out the posers from the old days. He'd have whupped Whitaker too if Whitaker hadn't hugged so much(it's still a win though because Pernell wasn't disqualified like he shoulda been)..... and he beat an enormous amount of current, past or future champs. So sayeth thy master. So let be written So let it be done. hahahahaha!

  5. Feb 8, 2012 at 07:23 PM by TheMexHurricane

@DDeCouto When the fuck have you ever seen "Hugging Ability" when a fighters strengths are being discussed? They'll talk about speed when discussing defense or power when discussing offense but hugging like the type and frequency done by Moseley here isn't mentioned because it has absolutely **nothing** to do with boxing. **NOTHING**. Geez!

  6. Feb 8, 2012 at 07:19 PM by TheMexHurricane

@DDeCouto TALENT WISE THE TRAINERS DON'T MATTER AS MUCH TODAY. MEXICANS WEAR YOU DOWN AND OVERWHELM YOU WITH THEIR CHIN, STAMINA, AND HEAVY HANDS. THAT WOULD INCREASINGLY BE MUCH MORE COMMON IF TODAYS FIGHTERS FOUGHT LIKE WILLIE PEP(ADMITTEDLY ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAV FIGHTERS) AND DIDN'T HUG SO MUCH. SIGH..............TO EASY.

  7. Feb 8, 2012 at 07:14 PM by TheMexHurricane

@DDeCouto I agree with you on the fundamentals but that was because they had to fight. They wouldn't get called back if they didn't fight and they were hungry and needed money. **BUT** THE TALENT POOL WAS SO THIN AND INCLUDED ALOT OF WHITES. OK, THINK OF A LARGE BLACK HIGH SCHOOL(3,000+) AND A SMALL WHITE HIGH SCHOOL(-300). NOW PIT THE BEST SPRINTERS FROM BOTH AND THE FUNDAMENTALS WON'T HELP THE WHITES FOR SHIT.

  8. Feb 8, 2012 at 07:10 PM by TheMexHurricane

@DDeCouto "IN the U.S." Exactly! In the -->-->U.S<--<--- The U.S. had a much, much, smaller population in the 20's. Boxing is worldwide now and there are alot more people in the U.S. today and especially the world. I went over this. Geez, you seem like a dog chasing it's tail when I'm teaching you.

  9. Feb 7, 2012 at 11:21 PM by DDeCouto

@TheMexHurricane Chavez is a top 30 fighter no doubt but only Mexicans think hes top 20. Chavez ran his record up fighting no-name journeyman over in Mexico. He gets signature wins over Roger Mayweather who NOBODY even puts in the top 150 p4p fighters all time. He gets a gift decision over Taylor before getting a boxing lesson from Whitaker in that "draw" LOL. How the fuck is that a top 20 resume? Guys like Robinson, Ali, and Armstrong defeated NUMEROUS all time greats.

  10. Feb 7, 2012 at 10:57 PM by DDeCouto

@TheMexHurricane Aside from Freddy Roach and a few others there really aren't as many great trainers like there were back in the day. Teddy Atlas even said that there are hardly any trainers these days that dedicate their entire life to boxing. There aren't any more Cus D'Matto's or Eddie Futch's. For example, I''ve never seen so many tall fighters that have NO IDEA how to use their height propery. Training has gone down hill becuase the sport is dying in America.

  11. Feb 7, 2012 at 10:40 PM by DDeCouto

@TheMexHurricane As for this nonsense about fighters "not being as good" back then. Most boxing historians will tell you that the 20's-40's was the most fundamentaly sound era in boxing history. You saw alot more body work and alot more jabbing. From the 50's on fighters became more and more headhunters. In fact, Chavez was considered an old school "throw back" fighter because of how he hammered guys to the body.

  12. Feb 7, 2012 at 10:34 PM by DDeCouto

@TheMexHurricane The sport of boxing was at it's peak in the U.S. back in the 20's-40's. That was back when there was a boxing gym on every corner and even high schools had boxing teams. A MUCH larger percent of the America's population was boxing back then. More importanly the best fought the best NUMEROUS times back that era. Even the journeyman back in Ray Robinson's day were in good shape because the majority of them were WW2 vets who boxed in the army.

  13. Feb 6, 2012 at 07:33 PM by TheMexHurricane

@DDeCouto Ha! Chavez would've killed Armstrong and Pep on the same night and Hearns, Leonard and Hagler would've killed Robinson's overrated ass too! Oh and Duran is Half Mexican and leans more towards Mexican than Panamanian.

  14. Feb 6, 2012 at 07:28 PM by TheMexHurricane

@DDeCouto Ring Mag and ESPN ratings? Hahahahahha! Those hypocrites are too stupid to realize they are situational proponents of the old timers style! LOL! Can you imagine if the hypocrite Mexiphobes ensured that today's fighters fought like the old timers-- there would be 100 Mexican champs and they know it and it gnaws at them. Yeah! Git outa here, kid! Your making me laugh!!!!

  15. Feb 6, 2012 at 07:23 PM by TheMexHurricane

@DDeCouto LOL! The old timers are way overrated because the talent pool was so much smaller. The old timers were actually more like National champs. Today there are alot more black fighters from many more countries= a larger talent pool of talent of blacks, many more Latino fighters from an enormous talent talent pool that didn't exist in the old days. Exactly the same thing for Asians, then you've got the fighters from the former U.S.S.R. boxing programs, etc, etc, etc.

  16. Feb 6, 2012 at 07:10 PM by TheMexHurricane

@DDeCouto The "great old timers" didn't do that. In Braddock's time if you didn't fight you weren't asked back. That's the same era that the Mexiphobes claim had the best boxing. There will of course be clinches but when a fighter hits then hugs to prevent the other fighter from hitting back then hits then hugs to prevent the other fighter from hitting back over and over and over and over again then it is no longer boxing.

  17. Feb 3, 2012 at 10:31 AM by DWaq32

@BestMusic2012 At this point, both of them are fucking around. Manny (or his promoter, or both) avoid the fight on May 5, so Floyd has no choice but to fight Cotto...a fight that should have happened 4 years ago. That's why boxing sucks. At least Floyd can save some face by fighting a champion. Manny will probably fight Khan or something. Both of these fuckers could have made hundreds of millions had they fought a trilogy.

  18. Feb 3, 2012 at 10:27 AM by DWaq32

@shantalminiloveyou What did Manny do against Marquez? He was lucky to have "won" the last fight while Gayweather, as you Pactards call him, beat him easily.

  19. Feb 1, 2012 at 08:03 PM by shantalminiloveyou

ITS BETTER TO BE A PACTARD THAN A GAY BOXER!!!SURELY EVERY ONE AGREES!!

  20. Feb 1, 2012 at 08:00 PM by shantalminiloveyou

ALL I KNOW IS PACMAN TKO DLH.PACMAN KNOCK DOWN MOSLY IN RND 3.PACMAN KNOCK OUT HATTON AT ONLY RND 2...WHAT DID FLOYD DO?

  21. Jan 30, 2012 at 09:10 PM by DDeCouto

@DDeCouto Sure you do pactard. If you knew shit about boxing you would know that Manny beating up on a weight-drained 147 pound De La Hoya doesn't mean shit. If you knew shit about boxing you would know that Mayweather/Hatton didn't go the distance. You would know that styles make fights and Manny has historicaly had trouble with counter punchers. That's why he's been outboxed by an aging Morales and three times by Marquez, and nobody gives a fuck about your politcs kid.

  22. Jan 30, 2012 at 06:19 PM by ForzaAquila

@DDeCouto It's ok because i'm not democrat either i'm libertarian. So no i didn't fail. I despise both. You'd be surprised about how much i know about boxing. In fact i'm pretty sure i know more than you. :) cya

  23. Jan 30, 2012 at 05:59 PM by DDeCouto

@ForzaAquila LMAO I'm the most liberal person on planet Earth. The "I'm voting Republican" vid makes fun of republicans. LMAO you fucking FAIL again. Please just stop leaving comments on boxing vids because you don't know shit about boxing. You look dumb.

  24. Jan 30, 2012 at 09:56 AM by ForzaAquila

@DDeCouto You know you can't take anything serious from a Republican.

  25. Jan 30, 2012 at 09:38 AM by DDeCouto

@ForzaAquila Ok then I guess I was just seeing things with 2 minutes left in the 10th round... Anyway you don't know shit about boxing. Only a pactard would use the fact that Manny did a "quicker job" on Floyds scraps to make a point. Next time learn your facts and don't type false info in your comments.
